Jon McLean
Chief Instructor
Sensei Jon McLean holds a 3rd Dan black belt Shukokai Karate and Kickboxing, as well as a 1 stripe purple belt Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
He has been training in the martial arts for 15 years, and teaching classes on Anglesey for almost 10 years.
Jon is a self-professed nerd and has spent hundreds of hours deep-diving into the martial arts and self development in his spare time.
He founded Warrior Spirit Martial Arts at the end of 2019 with the mission to help people fulfil their potential through effective martial arts, and provide a community for people to build their self-esteem and mental well being.
Laura Vaughan
Senior Instructor
Sensei Laura holds a 1st Dan black belt in Kickboxing and both Wado-Ryu and Shukokai Karate.
She has been training in the martial arts since she was 14 years old, and has experience in Muay Thai, Boxing and Extreme Martial Arts (XMA).
Sensei Laura has been involved in teaching the martial arts since she was 16, and joined the team at Warrior Spirit Martial Arts in 2021.
Kalem Parry-Coles
Instructor
Sensei Kalem has been training with the club for over 9 years.
He holds a 2nd Dan black belt in kickboxing, and 1st Dan black belt in Shukokai Karate.
He has found his place in the world after struggling for years on the Autistic Spectrum with ADD and ADHD, conquering them to assist in and lead classes at the club.
Sensei Kalem is a true product of the product, and is a shining example of what people can achieve through the power of the martial arts.
Alice Pascall
Instructor
Alice joined the club as soon as it opened in Llangefni, enrolled by her mum to try to boost her confidence. She has since become a very capable kickboxer and karateka, earning ranks of 1st Dan, and Brown Belt respectively. She has overcome many of her confidence challenges, and now leads classes with all age groups at the club.
Jonathan Thomas
Kicboxing Instructor
Jonno has been training in Llangefni for years, and holds ranks of 1st Dan in kickboxing, and green belt in Karate. He leads regular kickboxing classes at the dojo, and calls himself "the stamina guy" because his classes are always challenging and designed to push peoples' endurance.
